The Cyberspace Administration of China announced that Didi’s app will be banned in the country. On Friday China’s internet regulator also launched an investigation into the ride-hailing giant over the cyber-security risks posed by the firm’s enormous pool of user data. The moves come just days after Didi raised $4.4bn in the biggest American listing of a Chinese firm since 2014.

중국 사이버 안보 당국은 차량공유 업체 Didi 앱을 본토에서 금지할 것이라고 발표했다. 지난 주 당국은 사용자 정보의 대량 수집으로 인한 사이버 안보 위험에 관해 Didi 조사에 착수했다. 이번 사건이 있기 며칠 전 Didi는 미국 증시에 상장해 44억 이상을 조달하며 2014년 이후 중국 기업으로서는 최대 규모의 상장 기록을 세웠다.

South Africa’s Constitutional Court agreed to hear an appeal from Jacob Zuma against his 15-month jail sentence. In the past week the country’s former president was found guilty of contempt of court for defying an order to appear at an inquiry into corruption. The court gave him until the end of July 4th to hand himself in or face arrest.

남아공 헌법재판소는 전 대통령에게 내려진 15개월 형에 대한 항소심을 열기로 했다. 지난 주 전 대통령은 부패 혐의 조사에 출석하지 않아 법정모독죄를 선고받았다. 법원은 7월 4일까지 출석하지 않으면 체포될 것이라고 경고했다.

Clashes between police and protesters forced Chile’s Constitutional Convention to delay its inauguration. Marches organised by independent, left-leaning and indigenous groups went awry after protesters attempted to overturn barricades. In response the police used tear-gas and water cannons.

칠레 경찰과 시위대 충돌로 인해 헌법위원회 출범이 연기됐다. 독립, 좌파 성향, 선주민 집단이 조직한 시위가 바리케이드를 넘어트리려 했고, 이에 경찰이 최루탄과 물대포로 대응했다.

Pope Francis went to hospital for a scheduled operation to treat a colon problem. The pontiff has “symptomatic diverticular stenosis”, where bulges or pockets appear in the lining of the large intestine. It is the first time that the pontiff has been admitted to hospital since he was elected to the top job in the Roman Catholic Church in 2013.

Officials suspended the search for survivors at an apartment building in Miami that collapsed on June 24th. So far 24 people have been confirmed dead; another 121 people are still missing. The building is now being prepared for a controlled demolition, which has been brought forward over safety fears due to the approach of Tropical Storm Elsa.

A military transport aircraft belonging to the Philippines crashed, killing at least 45 people. The plane was carrying 92 passengers in total, most of whom were soldiers, and overshot a runway on Jolo island. The cause of the crash is unknown, but officials say that there are no signs of an attack by militants.

Coop Sweden closed more than half its 800 supermarkets after a cyberattack hit Kaseya, one of its software suppliers. The breach stopped many of its tills and self-service checkouts from working properly. The Swedish grocery chain is one of about 200 businesses thought to be affected by the ransomware attack on the American IT firm.
