Recording Impressions of the Trip

83일: 2016년 4월 1일, 론세스톤, 타즈매니아

오늘의 글은 한 시간이 채 되지 않던 짧은 비행시간 동안 적어 내려 간, 길지 않은 부활절 맞이 캠핑 여행을 통해 깨달은 것들의 목록이며 그곳에서 찍은 사진과 함께 합니다.    

타인은 알아차리지 못해왔던 나의 모습을 드러내는 일종의 거울이라는 점   

사람과 그 사람의 성격 및 행동을 분리해서 볼 줄 아는 것의 유용성과 중요성    

자연과 나의 연결고리가 없지 않았으며 아직도 희미하게나마 남아있다는 점    

텐트에서 잠자기, 땔감 거리를 찾아 불을 지피기, 샤워 없이 나흘을 버티기 등 불편했던 것만큼 의미 있었던 여행    

못 가본 길에 미련을 갖기보다는 여정을 통해 본 아름다운 광경과 만나고 지나친 인연에 감사할 수 있는 마음

... 비교적 새것인 내 운동화가 붉은색 흙으로 더럽혀졌지만, 그리고 물휴지로 문지르며 닦아내고도 남아있는 자국만큼 기억에 남을 여행.

Day 83: 1 April 2016, Launceston, Tasmania

I’ve written down on my flight back home, which lasted less than an hour, a list of things I’ve learnt and felt over the course of a camping trip during a not-so-long Easter break. It is accompanied by a selection of photos I took. Enjoy!    

 People around me are a mirror that reflects the aspects and personalities of mine that I’ve not seen before.

  Utility and importance of separating a person from his/her personality and behavior

  Unlike how I thought, there has been a link between nature and me, and it still exists to a certain degree albeit vaguely

  Sleeping in a tent, looking for firewood for a campfire, 4 days without a shower… a trip was worth as inconvenient as it was

  Ability to be grateful for the fascinating sceneries I’ve witnessed and the people I’ve crossed paths with, instead of regretting not taking another route

Although my fairly new pair of sneakers got permanently tainted by the red soil, that I tried to clean up with the wet wipes in vain, the impressions and memories from the trip will last, just like the stains on my shoes.
