호치민 베이비 앤 키즈 페어( 2023.6.1~6.4)

6월 1일부터 4일까지 베트남의 남쪽 최대 도시이며, 베트남의 경제수도인 호치민에서 Vietbaby 라는 전시회에 부스를 가지고 참여하였다.

한국콘텐츠 진흥원 ( KOCCA)에서 모집하여 10여 개 한국 내 콘텐츠 업체가 참여하였다.

전시는 B2B ( 기업 간 거래)와 B2C ( 일반인 대상 거래)가 혼재한 전시로, 평일에는 주로 업체들이 방문하였고, 토/일요일에는 일반인들이 방문하여 상품을 구매하는 전시로 이루어져 있다.

주최자가 한국의 코엑스이기 때문에 전체 행사장의 70% 정도는 한국 업체 나머지 30% 는 중국 업체라는 느낌을 받았다.

행사장은, 호치민에서 가장 큰 전시장은 SECC이고 , 행사장 자체가 한국인이 모여사는 코리안타운 지역이라, 주위 식당과 길거리에는 많은 한국 브랜드의 점포가 있었으며, 스타벅스에 들어가 보면 한국어가 주로 들리는 경험은 재미있었다.

호텔은 바로 걸어서 갈 수 있는 주위의 IBIS 호텔에서 묵어서 매일매일 전시회에 어려움 없이 참가할 수 있었다.

베이비 앤 키즈 페어인 만큼 , 유아용 유모차, 어린이용 간식거리, 어린이 어패럴, 완구 등의 상품들이 많이 나와 있었고, 특히 한국 업체들이 한복을 입고 , 홍보하고 있었으며, 뽀로로 라이선시가 뽀로로 탈인형을 쓰고 나와 어린이들을 기쁘게 해 주었다.

내가 담당한 해피업의 <꼬미와 베베> 부스

4일간 다양한 현지 업체들과 어린이 콘텐츠에 대해서 알아가는 시간이 되었고, 젊은 층이 인구의 대부분인 베트남 시장은 한국 어린이 유관 산업체들의 미래의 큰 시장이 되기에 충분하였다.

이미 한국의 롯데 등의 대기업이 소비시장을 점령하고 있으며, 높아져만 가는 중국 제조업계의 인건비 상승은 베트남을 새로운 소비재 제작 본거지로서 기대감을 주기에 충분하였다.

베트남에 올 때마다 느끼는 점은 마치 우리나라의 70년대를 느끼게 해 준다는 점이다. 나와 같은 70년 대생들은 후진국-> 중진국을 거쳐 , 선진국으로 들어가는 과정을 인생에서 현장에서 느낄 수 있던 경험을 가지고 있다. 베트남은 마치 사회 전반에 거쳐 역동성과 발전을 하고자 하는 상승욕을 강하게 느낄 수 있게 해 준다.

이제 코로나가 끝나고 , 모든 세계의 산업들이 새로운 기지개를 켜고 있다.

내가 속한 콘텐츠 업계도 코로나를 지내며 무수히 많은 어려움과 변화를 강요받았다. 하지만 이 또한 지나가리 생각을 하며 적응해야 할 것이다.
