그림자는 왜 생길까요?

"엄마, 그림자는 왜 생길까요?"

옛날 옛적,
하늘나라에는 해님과 달님이 함께 살았어요.

해님은 반짝이는 빛으로 아침을 열고,
달님은 고요한 은빛으로 밤을 감싸 안았죠.

어느 날, 해님이 말했어요.
“달님, 나랑 숨바꼭질할래?”
달님이 웃으며 말했어요.
“좋아, 그럼 내가 먼저 숨을게!”

달님은 해님의 눈부신 빛을 조용히 가리려고
부드러운 망토를 펼쳤어요.
그러자 망토 뒤쪽, 그늘진 땅 위에
작고 긴 그림자들이 살포시 피어났어요.

햇살이 닿지 못한 그 자리엔
새카만 구멍이 생긴 게 아니라,
아이들이 마음껏 뛰놀 수 있는
‘그림자 놀이터’가 펼쳐졌답니다.

바람은 그 안에서 숨바꼭질을 하고,
풀잎은 그림자 사이로 살랑살랑 춤을 췄어요.
고양이도 살금살금 그늘 속을 지나며
자기만의 비밀을 속삭였죠.

해님이 말했어요.
“달님이 빛을 살짝 가려줄 때마다,
세상은 잠깐 쉬어갈 수 있는
그림자 그늘을 얻게 되는구나.”

그림자는 어둠이 아니었어요.
그건 빛이 머무는 사이,
달님이 살며시 만들어준
쉼과 놀이터였답니다.

Long, long ago, in the realm of the sky, the Sun and the Moon lived together.

The Sun greeted the morning with its sparkling light,
and the Moon cradled the night in its gentle silver glow.

One day, the Sun said,
“Moon, shall we play hide-and-seek?”
The Moon laughed and replied,
“Sure—let me hide first!”

To softly veil the Sun’s dazzling rays,
the Moon draped a silky cloak across the sky.
And beneath that cloak—where sunlight could not reach—
small, long shadows quietly took shape upon the earth.

Those were not holes of darkness,
but a wondrous “Shadow Playground”
where children’s feet could dance and play.
The breeze whispered hide-and-seek secrets there,
blades of grass swayed in gentle shadow-dance,
and even a cat slipped through the shade,
murmuring its own mysterious tale.

The Sun then said,
“Every time the Moon gently hides my light,
the world is given a moment’s rest—
a cool, shaded refuge.”

A shadow is not darkness—
it is a tender pause between rays of light,
a quiet playhouse gently offered by the Moon.

“우리도 가끔은
해님처럼 높이 올라가 짧게 빛나기도 하고,
해질녘처럼 길게 늘어져
