Ramadan is here!
Do you want to spend Ramadan in Korea but don't know any place to get some halal foods?
Well, don't worry you came to the right blog!
In Seoul, there is a well-known Muslim street in Itaewon where there are numerous shops directed to Muslim people. You can spend Ramadan in Korea without lacking anything. This blog will mainly focus on the Muslim Street in Seoul.
Is there a Mosque in Korea?
Yes! There are a total of 8 mosques in total in Seoul, Busan, Anyang, Gyeonggi, Gwangju, Jeonju, Daegu, and Kaesong, so no need to worry about Jummah (Friday) Prayers. For Ramadan, there will also be Tarawih and the Eid Prayer after.
How can I get halal meat and other Arabic products?
No need to worry, as I said before, there are numerous and various Muslim shops. You can find shops for international food where Arabic products are sold, as well as halal meat, and other shops for Muslim clothes, Qurans, prayer clothes, etc. You can find these shops all around the Mosque.
What if I want to go eat outside?
No problem, you can find in Itaewon various halal restaurants. There are Indian restaurants, chicken-specialized restaurants, Turkish restaurants, Arabic restaurants, and last but not least, halal Korean food restaurants! Halal food aside, you can also find throughout Seoul all types of restaurants with delicious no-meat-based food! Seafood, vegan food, vegetarian food, rice cakes, tofu... you can find many things!
Another good point to note is that many places in Korea, Muslim shops or not, welcome Muslim people with Prayer Rooms so that Muslim people do not miss their prayers! You can find some prayer rooms in some restaurants, tourist spots (COEX, Lotte World, Lotte World Mall...), and hotels.
