Turnover is very low, job satisfaction is very high. Google is really an engineer’s company.

Microsoft has a good quality of life, solid benefits, and decent pay. The company has an incredible amount of diversity of work, from cloud to operating systems to hardware - more than Google in terms of full product-level things. It’s got its main campus in Seattle, which is nicer than the bay area in many ways.

There are an awful lot more senior people at Microsoft than Google. Microsoft has low attrition, but still higher than Google. Microsoft has a lot of process and habits left over from the box products era, but is doing a good job of changing this at a reasonable pace.
시니어 (경험과 나이 둘 다 말하는 것 같음) 들이 훨씬 더 많고 박스 프로덕트 팔 시절 (윈도나 오피스 CD/DVD 팔 때)의 프로세스나 버릇이 좀 남아있음. 하지만 바뀌고 있음.
I found technologies available to work on and the quality of my work more interesting and challenging at Microsoft than at Google. Google has a lot of VERY qualified people doing work which doesn’t require those qualifications.
이 사람은 구글보다 마소에서 손댄 기술과 일의 수준이 더 흥미롭고 도전이 되었다고 하네요. 구글에는 엄청나게 고퀄인 사람들이 많긴 한데, 사실 회사에서 아주 흥미롭고 도전적인 일은 그렇게 넘쳐나진 않다 보니까 어째 보면 쓸데없이 고퀄인 사람들이 좀 재미없는 일을 하기도 하고 뭐 그런다고요. 이 말은 런던 구글에서도 들었어요. 회사는 좋은데 플젝이 영 좀 별로다 뭐 그런.
그런데 큰 회사들은 참 팀마다 많이 달라서 단순하게 이렇다 저렇다 말하기가 쉽지 않네요.
