노래 : 리처드 샌더슨 <Reality>

내게 꿈이란 현실이에요

어느덧 여섯 번째 밑줄 긋기, 오늘의 곡은 리처드 샌더슨의 Reality. 김현식, 유재하의 노래를 좋아하는 부분에서 보이듯, 나는 오래전에 나온 음악들을 듣는 것을 좋아한다. 나의 취향은 한국 대중음악, 팝송 등 가리지 않는데, 주변 사람들에게 좋아하는 곡들을 말할 때면 간혹 내 나이보다 20년 전에 태어난 것은 아니냐며 의심을(?) 받기도 한다.

오늘의 노래 'Reality'는 영화 '라붐'의 OST로 워낙 유명하기도 하고, 이미 여러 가수들이 커버를 했었던 곡이기에 알고 있던 곡이었다. 그러다 2020년 <비긴어게인 코리아> 평창 마운틴 시네마 버스킹에서 이수현이 부른 버전을 듣게 된 후, 한동안 원곡과 이 커버를 돌아가며 들었다. 이후 다른 프로그램에서 이 곡을 다시 부르기는 했지만, 나에게는 이때 불렀던 Reality가 목소리, 분위기, 살랑 불어오는 바람까지 모든 것이 완벽했던 최고의 커버. 이 곡을 듣고 있으면 한여름 밤이 떠올라, 여름이 돌아오면 늘 나의 플레이리스트를 차지하는 곡.
