정 총리 “7월 전문가 '백신 미루자’, 바이오의존"

정부 백신도입 결정에서 감염전문 의료진이 배제되고 바이오회사와 감염병 비주류인 예방의학이 주도한 것으로 보인다.

정세균 총리가 7월 백신TF에서 "당시 전문가들이 '백신을 너무 급하게 만들었기 때문에 백신 의존도가 높은 나라가 사용하는 것을 보면서 쓰자'고 했다"고 백신지연 결정에 ‘전문가 주도’를 강조하고, 단계격상에 대해 “국민들 협조가 부진하면 단계를 격상했음에도 성과가 제대로 나오지 않을 가능성이 있다"고 국민 책임을 20일 밝혔다.

정부의 거리두기 자문인 생활방역위원회에 참여하는 감염내과 이재갑 교수(한림대)는 “8월 2차유행 이후 중수본에서 민간 전문가 의견을 거의 물어보지 않는다”면서, “중수본에 정보와 자료를 제공하는 그룹 가운데 잘못된 신호를 보내는 이들이 있지 않나 싶다. 감염병 전문가들 가운데 극히 소수이고 비주류로 분류되는 일부 인사들이 ‘고위험군을 주로 막으면서, 유행을 어느 정도 용인해도 된다’는 주장을 해왔다. 이런 정보들이 중대본·중수본의 기조를 틀어놓은 것 아닌가 의구심이 든다”고 경향신문에서 19일 밝혀 ‘비주류의 방역정보 독점왜곡’을 지목했다.

정 총리는 20일 KBS에 출연해 3단계 격상 관련 "단계 격상했을 때 국민들이 얼마나 적극적으로 참여 협력해주느냐가 중요하다. 단계를 격상하면 이동을 줄이고 경제활동, 일상생활을 멈춰야 한다. 국민들이 적극 협조하면 성과가 나올 터이고, 국민들 협조가 부진하면 단계를 격상했음에도 성과가 제대로 나오지 않을 가능성이 있다"고 격상지연에 대해 ‘국민 책임’을 밝혔다.

정 총리는 백신 지연에 대해 "정부가 백신TF를 가동한 지난 7월에는 국내 확진자 수가 100명 수준이어서 백신에 대한 의존도를 높일 생각을 하지 않은 측면이 있다"며 "당시 전문가들이 '백신을 너무 급하게 만들었기 때문에 백신 의존도가 높은 나라가 (백신을) 사용하는 것을 보면서 쓰자'고 했다"고 밝혔으나 ‘전문가’의 실체는 공개하지 않았다.

정 총리는 이어 "국내 유수한 바이오 회사들이 가진 자산을 포함, 민관이 총력전을 펴서 빠른 시기에 백신을 공급받을 수 있도록 노력하고 있다"고 밝혀, 바이오 회사가 백신 도입에 중요 비중을 밝혔다.
