There’s a colleague in my department whom

I really get along with. Since we work different shifts, we only get to see each other twice a week, on Fridays and Saturdays, which are the only days we share the same schedule. The reason I like working with this colleague so much is that I can vent to them about all the incidents and dramas that have happened throughout the week. It’s mutual—my colleague also opens up to me about their experiences, which makes the time fly by when we work together. Even after an 8-hour shift, it feels like only a few hours have passed.

Today was no different. We spent the entire day sharing stories about what had happened since we last worked together. Our favorite topic of conversation is workplace gossip. We especially bond over discussing a certain coworker we refer to as “Mr. D,” who is often careless and makes frequent mistakes on the job. The two of us often end up cleaning up after his messes, which might be why we connect so well—we both understand the frustration.

We also share similar feelings about another coworker we both dislike, which has brought us even closer. Honestly, this friendship has kept me grounded at this job, even during moments when I felt like moving on. Since we share common hobbies and interests, our conversations flow easily, making work feel much lighter and more enjoyable.

Even though we only meet twice a week, I always look forward to Fridays and Saturdays. Today was another one of those satisfying shifts where I could finally let out my frustrations and leave work feeling lighter. I’m really happy I get to work with this colleague again tomorrow. I’m already looking forward to the fun conversations we’ll have!
