밤별(Bambyul)
어느 날, 민호는 바위에 앉아 밤하늘을 바라보았다. 별들이 밤에 유난히 반짝이었다. 그는 별들을 하나둘 세고 있었다. 거기에는 별들이 너무 많아 셀 수가 없었다. 하나 둘……. 다시 하나 둘…….
민호는 별을 세고 있을 때 날이 밝아졌다. 그는 자리에서 일어났다. 그리고 그는 조용히 집안으로 들어갔다. 그의 엄마는 아직 자고 있었다. 민호는 이불속으로 들어가 잠이 들었다.
“민호야! 일어나야지.”
민호는 깊이 잠들어서 엄마의 소리를 듣지 못했다. 방 안으로 들어온 엄마는 민호를 깨웠다. 그는 엄마의 손에 이끌려 방을 나왔다. 민호의 아빠는 일찍 세상을 떠났다. 엄마란 함께 사는 민호는 10살이었다. 민호는 엄마랑 아침 식사를 하고 학교에 갔다.
“밤별~ 오늘은 지각을 안 했구나!”
민호는 선생님에게 칭찬을 받았다. 그의 반 친구들도 박수를 쳐주었다. 민호는 부끄러워서 책상 위에 엎드렸다. 선생님이 민호에게 다가와 민호의 어깨를 두드려주었다. 그는 다시는 지각을 하지 않겠다고 결심했다. 집으로 돌아온 민호는 해가 지는 것을 보려고 뒷산으로 올라갔다. 민호는 해가 지는 때를 좋아했다. 그리고 그는 하늘에 있는 별들을 보는 것을 좋아했다. 그래서 민호는 별에 대해 많은 것을 알게 되었다. 그래서 선생님도 친구들도 민호의 별명을 밤별이라 불렀다. 민호의 꿈은 하늘의 별을 연구하는 과학자가 되는 것이었다.
Bambyul(A Night Star)
One day, Minho sat on a rock and looked at the night sky. The stars twinkled unusually in the night. Minho was counting the stars one by one. There were too many stars to count. One two and again one two…….
The day got bright when Minho was counting the stars. He rose from his seat. And he went quietly into the house. His mother was still sleeping. Minho went into bed and fell asleep.
"Minho! wake up."
Minho fell sleep deeply and couldn't hear his mother calling him. Mom who came into the room woke up Minho. He left the room, led by his mom's hands. Minho's dad died early. Minho who lives with his mother was 10 years old. Minho had breakfast with his mom and went to school.
"Bambyul, you weren't late today."
Minho was praised teacher. His classmates also applauded. Minho lay down his face on the desk because he was ashame. He thought he would never be late again. After returning home, Minho went up the mountain behind to see the sun set. He liked when the sun downing. And he liked to see stars in the sky. So Minho learned a lot about stars. And so the teacher and classmates called him Bambyul by his nickname. Minho's hope was to become a scientist who studied the stars in the sky.
