차와 자리

장면과 이야기에서 시작해 가상의 차(茶)를 엮습니다.

일상에서 마주하는 모습을 차에 더하고 싶어요. 자연스러운 흐름과 유영하는 결, 풀어지는 잎, 매 순간 달라지는 향기와 색, 맛. 그런 여러 가지 감각들을 이야기에 담을 수 있을까요?

이 '자리'는 진짜이기도 하고 픽션이기도 합니다. 직접 찍은 사진, 보고 듣거나 상상한 인물과 장소. 이들이 잘 어울리는 가상의 차를 만들어볼 거예요.

차 레퍼런스, 브랜드를 찾으면서 각각의 아름답고 멋진 브랜드를 만났어요. 박물관, 미술관같이 우아하고 고고한 모습들도 많았지요. 저는 우리의 찻자리(차를 마시는 자리를 찻자리라고 부르더라고요.)가 넓어지기를, 사소하고 별거 아니지만 마음에 닿기를 바랍니다.

이곳은 <차와자리>. 실재하지만 물질화되지 않은 찻자리, 차와 자리가 만들어지는 곳입니다.

Tea & Place : Between stillness and story, a tea imagined.

I want to infuse tea with glimpses from everyday life—
the quiet movement of time, the soft grain of light,
the way leaves open and drift apart,
scents and colors, flavors that shift with each passing moment.
Can such sensations be carried into a story?

This place is both real and imagined.
Photos I’ve taken, and people or places drawn from memory, observation, or imagination—
from these pieces, I’ll create teas that don’t exist in the world, but feel like they could.

In my search for tea references and brands, I came across many beautiful ones—
some with the quiet elegance of a museum or gallery.
But what I long for is something more open, more familiar.
Tea moments—chatjari, as I’ve come to call them—
simple, unadorned, and gently resonant.

This is Tea & Place:
a tea moment that is real, yet not fully formed.
A space where tea and place slowly take shape together.
