내가 The Lonely Island(이하 론리아일랜드)의 노래를 처음 접한 것은 2011년 경이었다. 당시엔 말도 안 되는 가사를 신경 쓰지 않고 들었다. 우리나라엔 UV가 그들과 색감이 비슷하다는 정도랄까? 내가 좋아하는 마이클볼튼과 저스틴 팀버레이크가 이런 밑도 끝도 없는 곡에 피처링한 사실이 놀라 웠다. 그래서 외국에 살다가 온 형에게 물었었다.

미국에서 학창 시절을 보낸 그 형이 과장하기도 하고 장난으로 대답 하긴 했지만, 외국엔 SNL이라는 걸출한 프로그램이 있었고 코미디에 대한 이미지가 나쁘지 않았다. 대한민국도 예능이 연예인들에겐 필수요소가 되었다. 많은 배우와 가수들이 SNL에 나와서 호흡을 맞추며 프로그램을 채워나가니 시청자의 입장에선 재밌고 즐겁다.
그들의 멋들어진 노래를 들으며 하루를 시작한다. 내가 좋아하는 노래들이 하나같이 제목이 이런 지, 원래 그들의 노래가 솔직한지 모르겠다.

노래 제목들이 하나같이 주옥같다. 가사 또한 민망한 내용이지만 솔직해서 좋다. 뮤직비디오에선 보트승선권이 당첨된 주인공의 희열을 느낄 수 있다. 내가 우울하고 지칠 때면 찾는 론리아일랜드. 한해의 마지막과 새해의 시작은 론리아일랜드로 시작해야지.
