Autumn of Seooreung

2019    2021

One rainy and foggy morning in fall 2019, I visited Seooreung Royal Tombs. This day, I used a secondhand Nikon D lens aged more than 20 years which I purchased from Amazon for $50, including international delivery fees. You don't have to insist on the latest cameras and lenses to take good pictures. At some point, you would realize taking "what" and "why" is more critical than with "what" you take. Lenses made during the 80s-90s have unique ways of drawing scenes and personalities that are difficult to find in the latest lenses that emphasize clear image quality. It's not wrong; it's just a little different.

In 2021, autumn leaves were much more beautiful than other years, perhaps because it rained a lot in the summer. I could enjoy the splendor of autumn longer than usual because the trees did not shed the leaves until autumn deepened. My eyes felt sweet watching the colorful maple trees covering the autumn sky from Sunchangwon to Gyeongneung. I rejoiced like a happy child who found the last missing piece of the puzzle when I finally took a picture I wanted after waiting more than an hour for a moment without anyone around.
