On Aug 19-21, a Mekong-ROK Senior Officials’ Meeting was held in Vientiane, Laos.
The Mekong sub-region has emerged as the new driver of global economic growth in ASEAN, attracting attention from the global business community and providing multiple business opportunities. This progress has allowed the region to build and strengthen cooperative relations with key partners in the economic and development spheres, including with the Republic of Korea (ROK).
The Mekong-ROK Business Forum has been held on an annual basis since 2013 to maintain the momentum for stronger public-private partnerships between the two regions and to deliver tangible outcomes from the Mekong-ROK cooperation mechanism as agreed at the 2nd Mekong-ROK Foreign Ministers' Meeting in 2012.
