란턴 페스티벌 에 다녀오다.
한여름밤 우리동네의,
오늘 한여름밤 우리동네에서 펼쳐진 란턴 페스트벌 , Lantern Festival
이곳에 살고 있는 중국인들이 주최하고 중국인들이 준비하는 Chinese festival 이다.
" 등 "축제 로 초롱불이 아닌 전기램프가 들어간 한여름밤의 축제.
현지인들에게도 년중 가장 볼만한 볼거리로서 환영받고 무척이나 인기가 많은 행사이다.
자칭타칭 우리동네가 세계에서 가장 아름다운 란턴 페스티발 장소로서 불리워지고 있단다.
역시나 오늘밤도 수많은 인파들로 인해 발디딜틈이 없었고 가만히 서있어도 사람에게 밀려서 움직이게
되정도로 대성황, 다양한 먹거리 시장까지 열리면서 란턴을 바라보며 가족단위로 즐거운 한때.
줄을 서서 기다렸다가 구경을 할수 있을 정도로 이 행사는 규모는 커졌고 1 년중 가장 볼만한 구경거리로 된것에는 주최측인 중국인들의 고민 과 노력이 있었다.
수많은 현지인 인파를 겨냥한 그들의 중국 홍보 상품개발 이 대박으로 성공한 것.
실내가 아닌 야외 곳곳에 여러가지 다양한 재미있고 예쁜 동물모형으로 란턴모형을 만들고
온가족이 와서 부담없이 ( 입장료를 무료) 함께 보면서 즐겁게 구경만 하도록 하는 아이템.
여러경비도 많이 들겟지만 중국정부 와 이곳 뉴질랜드 정부 로부터 어느정도는 예산지원을 받지만
어쨓건 이렇게 해서 그들은 현지인들에게 중국을 알리고 있었다.
인파에 앞뒤로 밀리면서 구경을 하면서 내내 그들이 부러운 생각이 들었다. 같은 아시안 출신으로서
두마리의 용으로서 중국은 이곳 뉴질랜드에서도 우리와 선의의 경쟁구도인것은 사실.
아니나 다를까.
축제를 구경온 한국분들이 이야기가 뒤에서 살짝 들렸다. " 우리는 왜 이런게 없을까 "
우리도 행사는 있다.
한국을 알리자는 목적으로 열리는 행사에 참석하여 구경하는 사람이 이곳 현지인들이 많을까
아니면 우리 한국인숫자가 더 많을까.
우리가 보여주고 우리끼리 모여 우리끼리 박수치는 것 도 이제 달라져야 할 때.
수십년 동안 매년마다 보여주는 고정 아이템, 태권도 , 부채춤 , 싸이 노래, 춤 ...
우리도 그들처럼 한국을 알릴수 있는 기발한 아이디이로 새로운 상품개발을 하면 어떨까.
길게 미래를 내다 보면서.

The Lantern Festival is a Chinese festival celebrated onthe fifteenth day of the first month in the lunisolar Chinesecalendar. It marks the final day of the traditional ChineseNew Year celebrations,[1] and usually falls on some day in February orMarch in the Gregorian calendar. As early as the Western Han Dynasty (206BC-AD 25), it had become a festival with great significance.[2] During the Lantern Festival, children go outat night to temples carrying paperlanterns and solveriddles on the lanterns (simplified Chinese: 猜灯谜; traditional Chinese: 猜燈謎; pinyin: cāidēngmí; Jyutping: caai1dang1 mai4).[3][4]
In ancient times, the lanternswere fairly simple, and only the emperor and noblemen had large ornate ones.[5] In modern times, lanterns have beenembellished with many complex designs.[4] For example, lanterns are now often made inthe shape of animals. The lanterns can symbolize the people letting go of theirpast selves and getting new ones,[6] which they will let go of the next year. Thelanterns are almost always red to symbolize good fortune. [7]
In Hong Kong and Taiwan, it is commercialized as theChinese equivalent of Valentine'sDay. It is not to be confused with the Mid-Autumn Festival; which is sometimes also knownas the "Lantern Festival" in locations such as Singapore and Malaysia.[2][8]
