모세, 그리고 자유
로마서 16

아주 오래전, 하나님의 백성 이스라엘 사람들은 이집트에 살고 있었습니다.
그러나 이스라엘 사람들은 이집트에 사는 게 행복하지 않았습니다. 그들은 자유가 없는 노예였기 때문입니다.
"하나님, 우리를 도와주세요!" 힘들고 슬펐던 이스라엘 사람들은 하나님에게 기도하기 시작했습니다.
그러자 하나님은 그들을 구하기 위해 '모세'라는 사람을 불렀습니다.
모세가 이집트의 왕 파라오에게 가서 말했습니다. "이스라엘의 하나님이 그의 백성 이스라엘 사람들을 풀어주라고 말씀하셨다."
파라오가 말했습니다. "그건 안돼! 이스라엘 사람들은 나를 위해 일해야 한다! 그들을 절대 놓아주지 않을 것이다."
파라오는 점점 더 화가 나서 감독관들에게 명령했습니다. "이스라엘 노예들은 게으르니 그들에게 더 힘든 일을 시키라."
모세가 하나님에게 울며 기도했습니다. "약속대로 제발 당신의 백성을 구해주세요. 그들이 매우 슬퍼하고 있습니다."
하나님이 모세의 기도를 듣고 말했습니다. "내가 그들을 이집트의 노예로 두지 않을 것이다. 나는 강하니, 파라오가 내 백성을 돌려보내게 될 것이다."
하나님이 파라오로 하여금 이스라엘 사람들을 풀어주게 했습니다.
이로써 하나님의 영광이 드러났습니다.
하나님이 모든 걸 맡으십니다.
Long time ago, God's people, the Israelites, lived in the land of Egypt.
But the Israelites were not happy living in Egypt. They were not free. They were slaves.
God's people were sad and tired. They began to pray, "God, please help us!"
God called a man named Moses to set the Israelites free.
Moses went to Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. Moses said, "The is what the God of Israel says: 'Let my people go.'"
Pharaoh said, "No! I want the Israelites to work for me! I will not let the people go."
Pharaoh grew more and more angry. He told the masters, "The Israelites are lazy. Make them work harder."
Moses cried to God, "You have not freed your people as you promised. They are very sad."
God listened to Moses. God said to Moses, "I will bring my people out from being slaves in Egypt. Because I am mighty, Pharaoh will let my people go."
God made Pharaoh set the Israelites free.
God made His glory known.
God is in charge of everything and everyone.
