커다란 처음 II The Vast First II
커다란 처음 II The Vast First II (2026. ink & w.c on korean paper. 130x130)한 사람의 성장과 의식의 확장을 직관할 수 있는 것도 행운이다. 그 사람의 인생에 있을 몇 개의 정거장 중 한 곳에 나는 있다는 것이고 다음 차를 타는 그의 모습을 볼 수 있다는 것이다. 한 사람의 의식의 확장은 연이어 주변 사람들의 의식의 변화에도 반드시 영향을 준다. 모든 변화는 진보의 첫걸음이고 그렇게 한 사람의 진보가 주변으로 퍼진다. 진보하는 사람과 관계를 맺는 것은 그래서 행운이다.
내가 늘 찾는 거대한 질서, 둥근 움직임은 '의식'이라 우리가 부르는, 하지만 실체 없고 사실 감히 이름 지을 수 없는 태초의 것이다. 어느 책에 따르면 의식이 처음에 있었고 물질은 의식이 있는 곳에 딸려든다. 그 두 화합이 인간이고 모든 생명이다.
창조는 빈 곳에서 시작된다. 태풍은 눈을 중심으로 커져가고 꽃병도 비어있음에 생명을 주입할 수 있고 집도 빈 공간에 인간이 살아간다. 달걀조차도 안이 비어 생명이 형성된다. 내가 찾는 거대한 원은 그 안의 빈 곳에서 만물을 끊임없이 생성하고 조절하는 힘, 뜻, 얼, 의식이다.
It is a blessing to witness firsthand a person’s growth and the expansion of their consciousness. It means I am stationed at one of the many stops in their life, watching them board their next train. The expansion of one individual's consciousness inevitably influences the awareness of those around them. Every change is the first step toward progress, and thus, one person’s advancement ripples outward. This is why being in a relationship with someone who is evolving is a true stroke of luck.
The "Great Order" or the "Cyclical Movement" that I constantly seek is that primordial essence we call "Consciousness"—though it is intangible and, in truth, defies any name. According to a certain book, consciousness existed first, and matter follows wherever consciousness resides. The harmony of these two is what defines a human being and all living life.
Creation begins in the void. A typhoon grows around its empty eye; a vase can only hold life (flowers) because of its hollowness; and a house becomes a home through the empty space where people live. Even an egg forms life within its internal void. The Great Circle I seek is the power, the will, the spirit, and the consciousness that endlessly creates and regulates all things from the emptiness within.
