30. 고루,종루,비둘기
鼓楼 [gǔ lóu] Gulou or Drum tower
고루/구로우/드럼 타워
The drums and bells in the towers are huge musical instruments and were also used to track time in the old days. Now you can still catch a drum performance there in the heart of the hutong area.
탑 안의 북과 종은 매우 거대한 악기이며 고대에는 시간을 알려주는 역할도 하였습니다. 지금도 후통의 중심에서 북 공연을 볼 수 있습니다.
Performance time was just a few seconds away and I had to quickly climb up these crazy high steps. Needless to say, when I finally arrived, my heart was beating faster thạn those dạmn drums.
나는 공연 시간을 얼마 남겨놓지 않고 서둘러서 엄청난 높이의 계단을 올라갔습니다. 말할 필요도 없이, 내가 도착했을 때에는 북 소리보다 내 심장이 더 빨리 뛰고 있었습니다.
鸽哨 [gē shào] pigeon whistle
비둘기 호루라기 (비둘기 꼬리에 달아서 비둘기가 날면 소리가 나게 만든 호루라기)
Traditional whistles usually made from hulu or bamboo are attached to the pigeons' tails creating a winged orchestra in the sky.
전통 호루라기는 조롱박이나 대나무 소재였는데, 비둘기의 꼬리에 매달아서 하늘 위 날개 달린 오케스트라를 연출해냅니다.
钟楼 [zhōng lóu] Zhonglou or Bell Tower
The gray brick building with green roof tiles.
종루/종로우/벨 타워. 녹색 타일 지붕의 회색 벽돌 건물.
It must be so satisfying banging that wooden club against the enormous bell.
거대한 종을 나무 막대로 치는 것은 상당히 만족감을 줍니다.
豆腐池胡同 dòu fu chí hú tong
Tofu Lake Hutong. Just a few steps away from the Bell Tower.
또우푸츠후통/두부 호수 골목. 종루에서 가깝습니다.
Don't bother looking. There is no tofu lake.
굳지 찾지 마세요. 두부 호수는 없습니다.
I tried to take the perfect photo, a view of the archway with a flock of pigeons taking flight out of their improvised, makeshift pigeon loft built on one of the many hutong rooftops surrounding the Bell lower. If only I could request the birds to pause and pose in midair.
종루를 둘러싼 수많은 후통 지붕들 중 하나에 임시로 지어진 비둘기 거처에서 날아오르는 한 떼의 비둘기 무리와 아치형 입구의 전경을 함께 사진으로 담으려고 노력했다. 비둘기들이 공중에서 잠시 멈춰 포즈 취해주기만을 바랄 뿐이었다.
