어제 발왕산 산책 길에서 우연히 용 모양의 형상을 하고있는 나무가 눈에 띠었다. 그 길엔 수 많은 사람들이 지나가고 있었는데 아무도 눈치 채지 못했다. 그렇다면 이것은 내 눈에만 용처럼 보이는 것일까 아니면 다른 다람들이 알아채지 못한 것일까? 문득 세상사가 다 이와 같다는 생각이 들었다. 자연과 세상 만물은 누구에게나 똑같이 존재 하지만 보는 사람에 따라 다 다르게 보인다는 것. 여기서 갈등이 생기고 성패가 갈린다. 모두 인간 스스로가 만드는 것이다. 전쟁도 평화도 자유와 구속도 사랑도 미움도.
Yesterday, I happened to see a tree in the shape of a dragon on the promenade of Balwangsan Mountain. There were a lot of people passing by on the road and no one noticed it. Then, does this look like a dragon only to my eyes or is it something the other squirrels haven't noticed? Suddenly, I thought that the world was like this. Nature and all things in the world exist the same for everyone, but they look different depending on the person who sees them. Conflicts arise here and success or failure is at stake. It's all made by humans themselves. War, peace, freedom and restraint, love and hate.
용은 초자연적인 능력을 지니고 있고 부활과 재생의 힘을 지닌 자연의 생명력을 상징하는 동물로 숭배되었다.
In oriental countries the dragon was worshipped as an animal that symbolized the vitality of nature with supernatural abilities and the power of resurrection and regeneration.
지금 쓰고 있는 글은 내가 쓰려 하는 글과는 약간 주제를 벗어난듯 하지만 이 용을 보는 모든 분들이 용처럼 강인한 생명력으로 현재 안고있는 모든 문제들을 해결하고 어제 보다 더 나은 내일을 살면 좋겠다는 마음으로 이 글을 올린다.
The article I'm writing now seems a little off-topic from what I want to write, but I'm posting this with the hope that everyone who sees this dragon will solve all the problems they have now with their strong vitality like a dragon and live a better tomorrow than yesterday.
