프린스턴 대학도 내년까지 SAT/ACT 테스트 옵셔널
SAT 서브젝트 점수 요구 안 해
예일대 아직 입장 유보, 곧 발표할 듯
하버드가 가장 먼저 내년도 입시에서 SAT/ACT 점수 제출을 학생들의 선택에 맡기는 테스트 옵셔널 정책을 채택하자 다른 아이비리그 대학들이 이에 뒤따르고 있다.
하버드 대학과 미국 대학 랭킹 1-2위를 다투는 프린스턴 대학이 곧바로 22학년도에도 SAT 옵셔널 정책을 취하겠다고 발표를 했다. 또한 SAT 과목별 시험을 요구하지 않는다고 밝혔다. 이것은 옵셔널이 아니라 안 받겠다는 것이다. 그러나 2021년 이전에 SAT 과목별 시험을 본 학생들 가운데 제출하고 싶으면 제출하라고 말했다.
이에 따라 현재 SAT 옵셔널 정책을 1년 연장하기로 한 아이비리그 대학들은 하버드, 프린스턴, 컬럼비아, 유펜, 브라운, 다트머스, 코넬이며 예일은 아직 입장을 내놓지 않았다. 그러나 예일대도 조만간 동참할 것으로 보인다. <미래교육연구소>
■ Standardized Testing

For the 2021-22 application cycle, due to the lack of access to testing sites, Princeton will not require submission of standardized testing (SAT or ACT).
As with previous years, we do not require the submission of SAT Subject Tests. If you chose to sit for a Subject Test (prior to January 2021) and wish to submit the score, you may do so. Please note: the College Board eliminated SAT Subject Tests in January 2021.
Please know that standardized testing is but one element of our comprehensive and holistic application review process. We employ no minimum test scores for admission; rather, the entirety of a student’s background is considered in context. Additionally we do not require applicants to submit the optional writing section of the SAT or ACT (the SAT Essay or ACT Writing Test).
For those who choose to submit testing, we allow applicants to use the score choice feature of the SAT and accept only the highest composite score of the ACT, but we encourage the submission of all test scores.
Note on additional testing:
If you sat for an AP or IB test, we recommend that you self-report all of your AP or IB scores on your application. For those who do submit standardized test scores, you must submit your SAT and/or ACT scores to Princeton directly from the testing firms.
■ Testing Deadlines
Students taking standardized tests in December or later should have their scores sent directly to Princeton. Please see COVID-19 Update for complete changes to the application cycle. Transfer applicants who choose to sit for the test must complete all SAT testing by the March test date. All ACT testing must be completed by the February test date.
