핑크 플로이드의 이 노래처럼 나는 벽 속에 있는 하나의 벽돌처럼 느껴졌었다.

내가 서울에서 사는 동안.

혼자 튀면 욕먹는 세상이 두려웠지. 특별한 사람은 이미 날 때부터 정해진 것처럼. 평범한 나는 특별해지면 안 되는 줄 알았네. 서울을 떠나니, 한국을 떠나오니 나는 가만히 있어도 특별한 사람. 인종이 다르고, 언어가 다르고, 겪어온 문화가 달라. 나는 그들을 기억하지 못해도 그들은 나를 기억해.

그래서 나는 벽 속의 하나의 벽돌이 될 수 없지.

그래서 나는 더 특별해지고 싶어 져. 내가 나를 알아갈수록
