마스턴아메리카는 미국 텍사스주 테일러시(Taylor市), 테일러시 시정개발공사(Taylor Economic Development Corporation, 이하 EDC) 그리고 국내 피부미용 의료기기 전문 기업인 하이로닉(Hironic)과 미국 내 상업용 부동산 시설 확보에 협력하는 양해각서(MOU)를 맺었습니다.
마스턴투자운용의 미국 현지 법인 마스턴아메리카(MASTERN AMERICA)는 하이로닉의 테일러시 내 상업용 부동산 개발과 관련해 테일러시, EDC, 그리고 하이로닉과 4자 간 전략적 파트너십을 구축하기로 협의했습니다.
지난해 말 마스턴아메리카가 하이로닉과 북미 및 유럽의 상업용 부동산 시설 확보에 협력관계를 강화하기로 한 것의 연장선입니다.

이날 마스턴아메리카에서는 오진석(Joseph Oh) 대표와 이민재(Stephan Lee) 이사 등이 참석했으며, 하이로닉에서는 이상원 대표이사 등이 함께 했는데요. 테일러시에서는 브랜트 라이델(Brandt Rydell) 시장 등이 참석했고 EDC에서는 벤 화이트(Ben White) 대표이사 등이 자리했습니다.
마스턴아메리카는 반도체 지원법(CHIPS Act), 인플레이션 감축법(IRA, Inflation Reduction Act) 등으로 국내 기업이 미국 현지에 상업용 부동산 시설을 늘리고자 하는 니즈에 주목하고 있는데요. 하이로닉은 2014년 코스닥시장에 상장한 피부미용 의료기기 제조기업으로 해외 비즈니스 확장을 위해 북미 지역에 생산 및 판매 시설 구축을 계획하고 있는 상황입니다.
텍사스는 넓은 부지와 풍부한 자원 그리고 기업 친화적인 정책으로 기업들의 선호도가 높은 지역 중 하나인데요. 테일러시는 삼성전자가 새 파운드리(반도체 위탁생산) 공장을 건설 중이기도 할 정도로 글로벌 유수 기업들에게 각광받는 도시로 주목받고 있습니다.
더불어 테일러시는 최근 ‘실리콘 힐스(Silicon Hills)’라고 불리며 새로운 하이테크 중심지로 꼽히는 오스틴의 생활권 내에 포함되어 국내 주요 대기업들이 북미 사업의 교두보로 삼고 있는 도시입니다. 오스틴은 텍사스주의 주도(州都)이고요.
오진석 마스턴아메리카 대표는 “마스턴아메리카에 글로벌 시장 진출이라는 큰 과업을 믿고 맡겨준 하이로닉과 상업용 부동산 개발에 적극 지원을 약속한 테일러시 및 테일러시 시정개발공사에 감사드린다”라며 “마스턴아메리카는 그간 쌓은 부동산금융 전문성과 역량을 토대로 한국 기업들의 미국 부동산 진출 및 개발사업의 프런티어로 거듭날 것”이라고 밝혔습니다.

Mastern America Signs MOU with City of Taylory, Taylor Economic Development Corporation, and Hironic
- Collaborative efforts for the acquisition and development of commercial real estate in Taylor City to facilitate Hironic's expansion into the North American market.
Mastern America announced that it has forged a Memorandum of Understanding(MOU) with City of Taylor in Texas, Taylor Economic Development Corporation(EDC), and Hironic, the Korean medical device company.
Mastern America, the U.S. subsidiary of Mastern Investment Management, has agreed to establish a strategic partnership involving City of Taylor, EDC, and Hironic in the context of developing commercial real estate in Taylor. This collaboration extends the strengthened cooperation initiated by Mastern America and Hironic at the end of last year, aimed at securing commercial real estate facilities in North America and Europe.
Through this MOU, Mastern America is set to provide a comprehensive suite of real estate services, encompassing property acquisition, financing, development, construction management, building operation, and sales, to facilitate Hironic's entry into the North American market. City of Taylor and EDC will offer support in various capacities, such as introducing land and properties and coordinating business related to tax incentives, to aid Hironic and Mastern America in securing and developing real estate in City of Taylor.
Representatives from Mastern America, including CEO Joseph Oh and Director Stephan Lee, along with representatives from Hironic, including CEO Sangwon Lee, attended the event. Mayor Brandt Rydell represented Taylor City, and CEO Ben White represented EDC.
Mastern America is attuned to the needs of domestic companies seeking to expand their commercial real estate footprint in the U.S., driven by legislation like the CHIPS Act (Creating Helpful Incentives to Produce Semiconductors for America) and the Inflation Reduction Act. Hironic, a medical device manufacturing company specializing in skin and beauty, listed on the KOSDAQ in 2014, is planning to establish production and sales facilities in the North American region for overseas business expansion.
Texas, with its abundant land and resources, along with business-friendly policies, remains a preferred region for businesses. City of Taylor is garnering attention as a city of choice for global leading companies, with notable projects such as Samsung Electronics constructing a new foundry (semiconductor manufacturing) facility.
Furthermore, City of Taylor is recently acknowledged as part of the lifestyle zone within Austin, referred to as the 'Silicon Hills,' emerging as a new high-tech hub and considered a gateway for major domestic companies establishing their North American business operations.
Joseph Oh, the CEO of Mastern America, expressed gratitude to Hironic for entrusting the company with the significant task of global market expansion. He also thanked City of Taylor and Taylor EDC for actively supporting commercial real estate development, stating that Mastern America, leveraging its accumulated expertise in real estate finance, will evolve into the frontier for Korean companies venturing into and developing real estate projects in the United States.
