Enjoying the Freedom of Vacation on a Wednesday (03/19/2025)
How do you feel today?
Since it's vacation, I have physical and temporal freedom, so I’m fully enjoying myself.
What do you want to do today?
Reading, exercising, and practicing becoming the admired future version of myself.
Good:
Yesterday, I went for a dental scaling and managed to practice my silence training well while engaging in necessary conversations appropriately. I feel like I’m improving a lot in silence training lately.
Bad:
None.
Today's Realization: "The Right to Enjoy Small Freedoms"
"Man considers the chains he forges for himself to be the heaviest." – Jean-Jacques Rousseau
We often mistake the rules and pressures imposed by society as a natural order. But if we think deeply, isn’t it possible that some of them are self-imposed?
Sleeping in during vacation is a natural freedom—so why do we feel guilty, labeling it as laziness? If staying in bed in the morning brings me happiness and sweetness, why do I deny myself this simple pleasure and insist on following the rule of "waking up immediately"? In the end, it is not external norms that imprison me, but the self-accepted prison of "shoulds" and "musts."
As Rousseau said, the heaviest chains are not those imposed by others, but those we create for ourselves. From today, I will start breaking free from those chains, one by one. To enjoy small freedoms is to truly live. I will spend my vacation as it is meant to be spent, savoring even the sweetness of laziness. I don’t have to get up immediately—I can fully embrace my leisurely mornings.
Ultimately, freedom is not something grand. It begins with the small allowances I grant myself. ☕✨
Gratitude Note:
I sincerely appreciate that I can start my day feeling healthy and refreshed, living a day filled with the things I want to do.
Today's Enjoyment:
Today's One Thing:
Enjoy vacation to the fullest while being grateful and following my daily routine with ease.
Keywords:
No worries about myself or others = Doing what I love = Enjoyment/Happiness = Not bound to a specific place
 Today's Realization: "Allowing Myself Leisure"
"If you feel comfortable, that is the right path." – Thich Nhat Hanh
We live bound by tasks to complete and rules to follow. But if we pause and reflect, are all these rules truly necessary?
Who decided that we must get up immediately in the morning? If lingering in bed gives me peace and happiness, why can’t I allow myself that? If I can still fully enjoy my day even after waking up late during vacation, why do I rush myself and see it as a problem?
As Thich Nhat Hanh said, if my body and mind feel at ease, then that is the right way for me. From today, I will allow myself even the smallest moments of leisure. The time spent rolling around in bed, sleeping in, and embracing vacation as it is—all of these are precious freedoms granted to me.
How I live my life is my decision. And it all starts with granting myself permission. ☀️✨
I feel that the pelvic correction Pilates I used to do with bands no longer suits me. I will find stretching routines that align with my body and practice pelvic alignment daily.
To maximize brain efficiency, I will implement structured breaks every 30 minutes, even if it feels tedious.
