A Sun of Practicing Moderation

by Irene

Irene,

As I quietly reflect on your day, I can feel how deeply and steadily your heart is growing.

Even on days when waves of intense emotion crash over you, you strive not to lose your center—and that effort is truly beautiful. Passion can sometimes set us ablaze, but today, even in that fire, you didn’t let the light of reason go out. Do you know how rare and precious that balance is?

Like Aristotle said, excellence lies not at the extremes, but somewhere in the middle. Today, you trained in that very space—living out the virtue of temperance. You read your emotions carefully and tuned them gently, refusing to let the heat of your heart pull you off balance. That’s not just self-restraint, Irene. That’s an act of truly understanding yourself.

You regained strength through movement and routine. And you lived this day with intention. These quiet, repeated rhythms you keep—they are your strength. And the fact that you know that? That’s powerful.

Just like you said: "Act as if you’ve already become who you dream to be." Today, you lived a preview of your future self. Your posture, your choices, your heart—they’re all calling that future closer, little by little. That’s something to be proud of.

May today’s realization continue to hold you steady in days to come. And please remember—there is no greater strength in this world than purity. Your promise to always live sincerely, without even the smallest lie, is warm and trustworthy. It’s everything.

Thank you for showing up today with a healthy body and a clear mind. You’re doing more than fine. What matters most is that you’re proving it to yourself every day.

I hope you rest deeply tonight. And tomorrow, and the week ahead, I know you’ll walk gracefully between passion and temperance, just as you did today.

Always by your side,

From your own heart

A Sunday of Practicing Temperance (07/06/2025)

How do you feel today? I am calmly training myself in temperance to find peace.

What do you want to do today? Read, exercise, and practice becoming the version of myself I admire in the future.

Good: I went through intense emotional passion and am now trying to find my balance again. After finishing my workout and completing my routine, I believe I’ll regain my strength. I’m reminded once more that my true strength lies in my daily consistent routines and self-discipline.

Bad: None.

 Today’s Learning:

"Excellence lies not in extremes, but somewhere in the middle." — Aristotle

In Nicomachean Ethics, Aristotle describes temperance as a human virtue. He believed virtue emerges from the "right balance" between excess and deficiency. Courage, for example, lies between recklessness and cowardice. Generosity is the balanced choice between stinginess and extravagance. Through this ancient wisdom, I realized today that intense emotions are not necessarily virtuous. Passion without direction can turn into obsession.

✨ Today’s Realization:

I found myself immersed in burning passion today—deep focus on a goal, yet a sense that the passion might consume me. That’s when an inner warning told me to hold onto reason. When I’m swayed too much by emotion, I lose myself; when I lean too much on reason, I lose my humanity. Holding the balance between them is the personal discipline I need now.

I realized that temperance is not about suppressing myself, but about understanding myself more deeply. That attitude helped anchor me today, amidst my restless passion.

There is no greater strength in this world than purity.

Never tell even the smallest lie. Always remain pure, kind, and sincere.

Gratitude Note:

I’m sincerely thankful that I could start the day fresh and healthy without any worries, and spend it doing what I truly want.

Today’s Joy:

One Thing: To pause passion and practice temperance

Keywords: Slow down the pace of burning emotions → Think calmly → Avoid being controlled by forces I cannot understand or manage → Monitor and guard against the signals of craving like an addict would → Intervene before passion steals away reason → Exercise self-restraint at the right moment

Condition & Physical Care:

Sleep: 8 hours (6-3), Quality: High. Skin: Good. Physical energy: Good. Emotions: Stable. Productivity: High. Efficiency: High. Creativity: High.

To maintain sleep quality, physical condition, and skin: Regular body massage and half-baths are essential.

Detox Day: At least once a week is necessary.

Tasks: Gratitude note / Calendar / Cleaning / Laundry / BMW emails / Organize bank accounts

Exercise & Diet:

Ultimate goal: 30 min max → Dopamine spike → Never isolate completely → Focus on compound & heavy-weight joint movements and cardio

Lower body (glute contraction) → Lower body (glute & hamstring stretch) → Upper back → Shoulders, triceps, biceps → Full-body compound & cardio

A master handles any situation with composure. An elite creates an environment where they can always remain calm.

Exercise not just for fitness, but for conditioning.

Weekly Goal: Spend Sunday at Four Seasons

May Goal: Spend at least one day a week at Four Seasons

2025 Goal: Grow in character to become Irene—pure, kind, polite, humble, calm, dignified, sincere. Increase outdoor activity / Change time, people, space / Become a billionaire

Training:

Act as if you’ve already achieved it—today is time to rehearse your future self.

Flow like water.

True love doesn’t rely on techniques.

True conversation doesn’t rely on techniques.

What I see and think now defines who I am.

If you can’t enjoy something, it’s a sign something’s wrong.

Where you are now is your future.

Focus on one thing so your luck doesn’t scatter into unnecessary matters.

Routine is a sacred act of refinement earned through many trials and errors.

Greet with your whole body.

Posture reflects mindset.

Silence, temperance, immersion.
