출애굽기 24장- 29장
The Church, A Collective Calling
출애굽기 24장부터 29장까지, 하나님은 모세에게 성막을 어떻게 지어야 하는지, 그 안에서 드려질 제사의 규례는 어떠해야 하는지, 누가 제사를 드릴 수 있으며, 제사의 음식은 어떤 방식으로 준비되어야 하는지 세밀하게 알려주십니다. 그 모든 것이 단지 규정과 지침으로 끝나지 않고, 하나하나가 하나님의 구속 계획을 상징하는 중요한 메시지로 가득 차 있습니다.
이 시대에는 사람들이 글을 읽고 쓸 수 있는 일이 흔치 않았기에, 이러한 세부적인 지침은 오롯이 기억으로 전해졌을 것입니다. 그 기억을 온전히 보존할 수 있는 자들이 필요했고, 또한 그 기억이 정확함을 입증할 자들이 필요했습니다. 이 외에도 놋쇠를 다룰 수 있는 기술자, 청색과 홍색 실을 염색할 수 있는 사람, 수놓을 수 있는 이들, 옷을 짓는 이들, 성소의 장막을 세울 수 있는 이들, 올리브를 수확하여 기름을 짤 수 있는 이들까지, 수많은 사람들이 각자의 역할을 맡아야만 했습니다. 이 모든 요소가 오늘 우리가 읽는 이야기 속에 담겨 있습니다.
하나님은 여기서 교회가 어떻게 세워져야 하는지에 대해 말씀하시는 듯합니다. 교회는 결코 한 사람의 힘으로만 이루어질 수 없습니다. 아무리 뛰어난 능력을 가진 사람이 있다 하더라도, 그 사람의 힘만으로 교회의 모든 것을 이루는 것은 불가능합니다. 교회는 마치 포도나무에 여러 가지 가지가 붙어 있듯, 머리 되신 예수님 안에서 하나로 연합된 지체들이 함께 이루는 것입니다. 그때 비로소 교회는 진정한 모습으로 세워질 수 있습니다.
교회는 결코 ‘나’로만 존재할 수 없습니다. 각자의 달란트와 역할이 다르지만, 그것이 하나님의 섭리 안에서 하나로 모일 때, 우리는 진정한 의미의 연합을 이루게 됩니다. 각각의 사람들은 그 자체로 귀하고 중요한 존재이지만, 그들이 하나로 모였을 때 교회는 온전한 형태를 갖추게 되고, 그리스도의 몸으로서의 역할을 다할 수 있습니다.
교회에서 함께하는 목사님과 사역자분들, 그리고 성도님들의 얼굴이 하나하나 떠오릅니다. 함께 모여 예배 드리고, 서로를 알게 되어 감사하며, 각자의 자리에서 하나님이 주신 달란트로 교회를 세워 나가고 있는 여러분 모두에게 감사의 마음을 전하고 싶습니다.
각자의 삶에서 그 주어진 역할을 충실히 감당하며 귀한 존재로 살아가고 계신 모든 분들께 깊은 감사의 마음을 전합니다. 하나님께서 여러분 각자의 삶 속에서 더욱 깊이 만나주시기를 기도합니다.
From Exodus 24 to 29, God gives Moses detailed instructions on how to build the tabernacle, how sacrifices should be offered, who may serve as priests, and how offerings should be prepared. But these commands are not just regulations or guidelines. They are filled with meaning, each one pointing to God’s greater plan of redemption.
In those days, reading and writing were uncommon skills. Every instruction had to be passed down through memory, requiring people who could preserve it accurately and others who could verify its precision. Beyond that, the work itself needed many hands. Craftsmen worked with bronze. Artisans dyed blue and red thread. Embroiderers and weavers created intricate designs. Builders constructed the sacred tent. Others harvested olives to produce oil. Each role was essential and became part of the story we now read.
Through this, God seems to show us how the church should be built. No single person, no matter how gifted, can establish the church alone. Just as a vine has many branches, the church is made up of many members united in Christ who is the head. Only when each part comes together in harmony does the church take its true shape.
The church is never just about one particular person. Each of us has different gifts and callings, but true unity happens when we bring them together under God’s purpose. Every person is precious and significant, but it is in community that the church becomes whole and fulfills its role as the body of Christ.
I think of the pastors, ministry leaders, and fellow believers I worship with. I am grateful for each one, for the way we come together in faith, and for the gifts God has given each of us to build up His church.
To all who faithfully live out their calling, serving in ways seen and unseen, I am deeply thankful. May God meet you more profoundly in your journey and guide and strengthen you each step of the way.
