여기 요한이 쓴 편지가 있습니다.
이 편지는 '요한일서'라고 하며, 성경에 들어있습니다.
요한은 이 편지에 예수에 대하여 썼습니다.
하나님의 자녀는 자신이 영원한 생명을 가졌음을 분명히 알 수 있다고 요한은 말했습니다.
그는 편지에 이렇게 썼어요. "두려워하지 마세요. 예수를 사랑하고 믿는 사람들은 죄짓고 싶어 하지 않습니다. 그러나 때로 그들은 죄를 짓기도 합니다."
"하나님은 따뜻하고 선하십니다. 죄를 뉘우치고 용서를 구하면 하나님이 우리를 용서하십니다. 예수가 십자가에서 죽고 다시 살아났으므로 하나님이 우리의 죄를 용서하시는 것입니다."
요한이 썼습니다. "하나님은 당신을 무척 사랑하십니다. 그는 당신을 자녀라 부르십니다. 예수를 믿으면 영생을 갖게 됩니다."
영생은 하나님과 영원히 함께하는 멋진 삶입니다.
사람들이 하나님의 사랑을 알기를, 두려워하지 않기를 요한은 바랐습니다.

This letter is called 'First John', and it is in the Bible.
John wrote about Jesus in his letter.
John wrote to tell us God's children can know for sure they have eternal life.
He wrote in his letter, "Do not be afraid. People who love and believe in Jesus do not want to sin but sometimes they sin."
He wrote, "God is kind and good. When we tell God we are sorry for our sin and ask him to forgive us, he forgives us. Because Jesus died on the cross and came alive again, God forgives us of our sin."
John wrote, "God loves you so much. He calls you his children. When you believe in Jesus, you have eternal life."
Eternal life is the wonderful life we live with God forever.
John wanted the people to understand God's love and not be afraid.
