Irene,
Remember the excitement that came from starting your day in a new space and time. The desire to change something made the air around you feel different. With reading, movement, and visualizing the version of yourself you admire, you practiced becoming her today. And that alone was beautiful and meaningful.
What stood out the most was how you created a clear plan that you could act on. It might not be perfect, but even just being willing to begin—that’s a rare and precious kind of courage. Sure, you were late to class yesterday, and the group project brought some stress, but even those feelings are helping you grow. The realization that “the desire to avoid something is still a form of focus” was incredibly powerful. To control your emotions is to stay present with yourself.
As Epictetus said, time is the fairest judge of truth. The emotions you felt today—though fleeting—will become clearer as time passes. Maybe not now, but eventually, you’ll know whether they were impulses or sincere desires. Choosing to wait and let time pass is the beginning of a deeper wisdom.
Just like you learned today, keep practicing the habit of passing your emotions through time before trusting them. Instead of reacting to temporary feelings, you’re becoming someone who waits for the answers only time can give. And I’m so proud of you for that.
Those little promises you made—not to lie, to always act with sincerity—those matter. Each one shapes you into someone more pure and grounded. Your routines—massage, detox, baths, workouts—none of them are wasted. Even something as small as printing today’s letter is part of something greater.
Living in this moment while practicing for the future version of yourself—that’s what it means to grow with intention. And if you keep walking this path, Irene, you will absolutely greet a beautiful tomorrow.
Believe that time will resolve everything.
And become the person who knows how to wait.
It was a day full of quiet gratitude and soft strength.
Always on your side, Irene
A Wednesday to Begin Taking Action (08/13/2025)
How do you feel today?
I started the day with excitement, inspired by a plan to change through new spaces, new times, and new energy. What did I want to do today? Read, exercise, and practice becoming the future version of myself I admire.
Good:
I created a complete and actionable plan. Now I just need to start—even with something small.
Bad:
I was late to class yesterday. I practiced silent mindfulness during the lecture, but felt stressed during the group project. Avoidance itself is also a form of focus, so I must learn to control the instinct to avoid and the tendency to create a negative frame.
 Today’s Learning:
"Time is the fairest judge of truth."
— Epictetus
Stoic philosopher Epictetus taught that the ability to see through life without being swayed by emotion comes from insight developed over time. He emphasized that our emotions and desires may simply be temporary reactions. The judgments we make after time has passed are more likely to be honest and true.
Our emotions and decisions often feel overwhelming in the moment. But Epictetus reminds us, "Do not trust immediate feelings—let them pass through time." Only then can we discern whether those emotions were mere impulses or heartfelt desires. This is the key to knowing the difference between what we truly want and what simply tempts us in the moment.
✨ Today’s Insight:
Let your emotions pass through time before trusting them.
Today, I realized once again that when my decisions and emotions aren't clear, the wisest thing I can do is not to force meaning or rush into judgment—but to simply remain still in the space of time.
We can’t always see, in the moment, whether the food nourished us, whether love made us grow, or whether a video lifted our mind. But everything becomes clearer through the transparent mirror of time.
From now on,
I choose not to decide based only on fleeting feelings,
but to ask time whether those feelings are sustainable truths.
And I trust that this posture of waiting
will mold my life into something deeper and stronger.
Nothing is stronger than purity.
Never tell even the smallest lie.
Always be pure, kind, and sincere.
Gratitude Note:
I’m truly thankful that I could start today feeling healthy and refreshed, and that I lived a day filled with things I love and want to do.
Today’s Joy:
One thing for today: Print the letter.
