빛을 바라지 않는 친구 : 두 번째 등대의 교훈
The Friend who didn't wish for light
별담이 이야기별담이 앞에 새로 나타난 친구는 별담이에게 버럭 화를 냈어요.
The new friend that emerged in front of Stardam lashed out at her.
"너는 누군데 여기에 온 거야?"
“Who are you to come here?”
"나는 별담이라고해. 등대에 불을 켜서 어두운 바다에 빛을 찾아주려 해."
"I’m called Stardam. I’m here to light up the lighthouse, to give light to the dark sea."
"나는 빛 같은 거 필요 없어. 네가 등대에 불을 켜게 두지 않을 거야!"
“I don’t need any sort of light. I won’t allow you to light that lighthouse!”
별담이는 새로 나타난 친구의 말에 당황했어요.
Stardam was taken aback by the new friend's reaction.
바다에 빛을 찾아주면 모두 좋아할 줄 알았는데 빛이 필요 없다고 말을 하니 어떻게 해야 할지 몰랐어요.
She had thought that bringing light to the sea would make everyone happy, but now, faced with someone who declared no need for it, she didn’t know what to do.
별담이 이야기별담이는 우선 이야기를 들어보기로 했어요.
Stardam decided to listen first.
"나에게 왜 빛이 싫은지 이야기해 줄 수 있을까? 많은 친구들이 바다가 어두워져서 너무 무서워하고 있어"
"Why do you dislike the light? Many friends in the sea are very scared because it's so dark."
"나는 내 더듬이에 있는 이 등불로 먹이를 유인해서 사는 아구모라고해. 나는 지금 바다가 어두워져서 사냥을 하기가 너무 편해 나는 지금 이대로가 너무 좋단 말이야."
"I am Agumo, who lives by luring prey with this lantern on my antenna. The darkness of the sea has made hunting so much easier for me; I really like it this way."
"하지만 바다가 이렇게 어두워서 바다 친구들이 모두 사라지면 너도 더 이상 사냥을 할 수 없을 거야."
"But if the sea stays this dark and all our sea friends disappear, you won't be able to hunt anymore."
"그건 나도 싫은데.."
"I wouldn't like that either..."
"그럼 등대에 불을 켜고 한쪽에 해초를 많이 심어서 어두운 곳을 만들어 주면 어때? 그럼 다른 친구들도 행복하고 너도 사냥을 계속할 수 있을 것 같은데."
"What if we light the lighthouse and plant lots of seaweed on one side to create a dark space? Then everyone else can be happy, and you can continue to hunt."
"그게 가능할까?"
"Do you think that's possible?"
"내가 도와줄게"
"I'll help you."
별담이 이야기별담이는 별의 기운을 담아 주변에 해초를 옮겨 심기 시작했어요.
Stardam, infused with the energy of the stars, began to transplant seaweed around.
해초들은 별의 기운을 양분으로 주변에 퍼져서 자라기 시작하였고 금방 작은 숲을 이루었어요.
The seaweeds, nourished by the star's energy, started to spread and grow in the vicinity, quickly forming a small forest.
별담이 이야기아구모는 해초들의 숲속이 너무 마음에 들었어요.
Agumo was very pleased with the forest of seaweed.
"별담아, 이제는 등대에 불을 켜도 될 거 같아. 난 해초의 숲이 너무 좋아. 고마워"
“Stardam, I think it’s okay to light the lighthouse now. I really like this seaweed forest. Thank you.”
별담이는 여기까지 오며 모아온 별빛을 뿜어내며 등대의 불을 켜기 시작했어요.
Stardam then started to light the lighthouse, releasing the starlight she had gathered on her way.
그러자 별담이의 몸이 반짝반짝 빛나며 등대가 별빛에 휘감기기 시작했어요.
As she did, her body sparkled brilliantly, and the lighthouse began to be enveloped in starlight.
별담이 이야기불이 켜진 등대는 빛이 사방으로 뻗어나가며 주변을 밝히기 시작했어요.
Once the lighthouse was lit, its light began to spread in all directions, illuminating the surroundings.
등대의 불이 켜지며 작은 물고기들부터 등대 주변으로 그리고 해초의 숲으로 다시 몰려들기 시작했어요.
As the light from the lighthouse shone, small fish started to gather around it and then towards the seaweed forest.
별담이는 아구모와의 만남을 통해 등대의 불을 켤 때는 주변을 한번 둘러봐야겠다는 생각을 하게 되었어요.
Stardam, through her encounter with Agumo, realized that when lighting the lighthouse, one must consider the surroundings.
이 바다 속도 여러 생물들이 함께 살아가야 하는 모두에 공간이라는 것을 알게 되었답니다.
She learned that this underwater world is a space where various creatures must live together.
