예루살렘

*유월절 엿새 전에 예수는 베다니로 갔습니다.
예수는 나사로, 그의 누이 마리아, 마르다와 함께 머물렀어요.
나사로는 예수가 죽음에서 다시 살린 사람입니다.
마리아와 마르다가 예수를 위해 만찬을 베풀었어요.
마리아가 매우 귀한 향유가 담긴 병을 열었습니다.
마리아는 향유를 예수의 머리와 발에 부었습니다.
그러고 나서 그녀는 자신의 머리카락으로 예수의 발을 닦았습니다.
온 집안이 향기로 가득 찼어요.
마리아는 하나님을 그 무엇보다 사랑하는 것이 삶의 최선의 길임을 보여준 것입니다.
다음 날, 예수는 예루살렘으로 갔습니다.
예수가 온다는 소식을 듣자, 사람들은 그를 맞으러 나갔습니다.
그들은 종려나무 가지를 꺾어 예수를 향해 흔들었습니다.
사람들은 예수가 나귀를 타고 오는 것을 보고 소리치기 시작했습니다.
"호산나(구원하소서)! 주님의 이름으로 오시는 자에게 축복 있으라."
예루살렘에 온 것은 예수에게 고난이 될 것입니다.
그러나 모든 사람을 죄에서 구원하라는 하나님의 뜻을 예수는 알고 있었습니다.
Six days before *Passover, Jesus came to Bethany.
Jesus came to stay with Lazarus and his sisters, Mary and Martha.
Lazarus was the man Jesus raised from the dead.
Mary and Martha held a big dinner to honor Jesus.
Mary opened the bottle of very special perfume.
She put some on Jesus' head. Mary also put some on Jesus' feet.
Then she wiped Jesus' feet with her hair.
The whole house was filled with the good smell of the perfume.
Mary showed loving God more than anything else is the best way to live.
The next day, Jesus came to Jerusalem.
When people heard Jesus was coming, they went out to meet him.
People took palm branches from the trees to wave at Jesus.
When the people saw Jesus riding in on a donkey, they began to shout.
"Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord."
It would be hard for Jesus in Jerusalem.
But Jesus knew God wanted him to save everyone from their sins.

* 유월절(Passover)은 모세가 이스라엘 민족을 이끌고 이집트를 떠나려 할 때 파라오가 이를 막자 하나님이 이집트에 내린 재앙 중 하나인 장자의 죽음을 피하기 위해 이스라엘 사람들이 문 주위에 양의 피를 발라 죽음이 지나가게(pass over) 한 데서 유래한 이스라엘의 큰 명절이다.
예수의 최후 만찬이 있던 날이 바로 유월절이다.
