맨발에 밟힌 인공눈물 - 구시안

맨발이 바닥을 디뎠을 때 먼저 온 건 차가움이었다

다음은 미끄러움

그리고 아주 짧은 저항

플라스틱 튜브는 말랑한 몸을 한 번 접었다가

참지 못하고 터졌다

발바닥의 살과 살 사이로 투명한 액체가 번져 나갔다

얇은 막이 깨지는 소리

딱이 아니라 퍽에 가까운 숨 막힌 파열

피부는 즉시 반응했다

감각이 먼저 알고 있었다

이건 유리도

물도 아닌 것

공장에서 태어난 투명함

감정을 흉내 낸 점도 같은 액체

발바닥의 주름마다 스며들며 순간적으로 시원했고

바로 다음 순간 끈적였다.

튜브의 찌그러진 몸통이 발가락 아래에서

천천히 원래의 형태를 포기했다

아무도 보지 않았다

바닥은 늘 그렇듯 침묵했고

맨발은 잠깐 멈췄다가 다시 움직였다

남은 것은 발자국 가장자리에 번진 얇은 광택

그리고 터졌다는 사실만 남긴 공허한 껍질

그 풍경은 짧았고 정확했다

살아 있는 몸과 대체물의 만남

그리고 책임 없는 파열.

엄지와 검지가

그것을 들고

바라본다.

플라스틱 튜브는 구겨져

작은 눈물을

흘리고 있을 뿐이었다

Artificial Tears Crushed Under Barefoot – sian koo

When the bare foot met the floor,
cold arrived first.

Then slipperiness.

And then a very brief resistance.

The plastic tube folded its soft body once,
and then, unable to endure, burst.

A transparent liquid spread between the flesh and flesh of the sole.
The sound of a thin membrane breaking.
Not a crack,
but a suffocated phk, closer to collapse.

The skin reacted immediately.
Sensation knew before thought.
This was neither glass
nor water.

A factory-born transparency,
a drop-like liquid that mimicked feeling.

It seeped into every crease of the foot,
cool for an instant,
sticky the very next.
The crushed body of the tube beneath the toes
slowly abandoned any attempt
to return to its original shape.

No one saw it.
The floor, as always, remained silent.
The bare foot paused briefly, then moved on.

What remained was a thin sheen

spread along the edge of a footprint,
and an empty shell that remembered only that it had burst.
The scene was brief and exact.
A meeting between living flesh and a substitute.
And a rupture without responsibility.

Thumb and forefinger
pick it up
and look at it.

The plastic tube, wrinkled,

was only leaking
a small tear.
